The Zypad WL 1000 exemplifies the concept of ubiquitous computing by integrating all the power and capabilities offered by a full size PC within an extremely versatile device. The design allows flexible, ergonomic positioning and fastens easily to the wrist, even over the user's clothes, thus ensuring ideal weight distribution and maximum comfort. With Zypad WL 1000 information can be shared and services can be accessed regardless of location. It can be quickly configured to access any remote host system through its integrated wired or wireless interfaces using either the Linux and Windows CE operating systems.
The system integrates the latest and most innovative features such as a patented tilt and dead reckoning system. It can detect if the operator has been motionless for a specified amount of time by transmitting a location beacon, enabling quick location of the user. The tilt and dead reckoning system also detects the position of the user?s arm and converts the system to standby mode when the arm is relaxed next to the body.
