Eurotech Announces Embedded Core™ i7 Single Board Computer
Cambridge (UK), 16th June, 2010 — Eurotech, the global manufacturer of embedded computers, industrial PCs and subsystems has announced the launch of a new rugged single board computer based around the Intel® Core™ i7 processor range. The ANTARES is a 5.25" format board offering dual core processor options ranging from a 1.83 GHz Celeron through to a 2.53GHz Core i7.
It is ideal for applications requiring a combination of high processor bandwidth, low power consumption, long production lifecycles, compact footprint and rugged construction, including multimedia infotainment, communications control, media servers, machine control, digital signage, HMI and asset monitoring.
Operating over a wide -20 to +60 degree temperature range, the industrial SBC includes a comprehensive range of peripheral interfaces. Expansion is possible via both PCI-express and dual mini-PCIe sockets with SIM card support for mobile applications. Multiple SATA interfaces are available for disk based systems requiring RAID capability, whilst the advanced graphics functionality allows concurrent connection of up to four video outputs.
Fanless, diskless applications are catered for using the ultra low power i7-620UE processor coupled to a site for flash memory containing operating system and application images. Both Windows Embedded Standard and Embedded Linux are available pre-ported and ready to run.
The latest in a line of high power, low consumption computer platforms, the ANTARES brings new levels of performance to the embedded PC market, as well as advanced features such as hyperthreading, remote system management via Intel's AMT feature (available even if the operating system has crashed), and disk encryption using Intel's AT-d technology.
The ANTARES is also available at the heart of a 1U high, 19" rackmount industrial PC
