Electronic Design Magazine Names Eurotech ESF and Google Android Best Embedded Software
Columbia, MD, December 15, 2009 — Eurotech, a leading supplier of embedded technologies, products, and systems, has earned the Best Software of 2009 award from Electronic Design Magazine, sharing the honor with Google Android as the leading middleware for embedded systems. Eurotech's Everyware™ Software Framework (ESF) offers open source developer tooling based on the Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and Java Micro Edition Virtual Machine, with full standards-based support for remote maintenance and operation.

Electronic Design noted that ESF leverages major open source software initiatives including the Eclipse development environment, the OSGi specification, embedded Java (from IBM) and Linux, assembled and tested to enterprise grade with the Wind River tool set. Eurotech adds software to these open source tools to adapt them for specific processors, multiple networks and industry applications.
