Eurotech Hires Embedded Industry Veteran, David Cowan, as VP Sales in North America
Additional Enhancements to Management Team Position Eurotech for 2009 Opportunities in Embedded Computer Market
Columbia, MD, December 16, 2008 – Eurotech, a leading provider of application-ready embedded computer systems, today announces that David Cowan has joined the organization as vice president of sales in North America. In his new role, Cowan leads all direct and indirect sales channels for Eurotech products, including low power single board computers, modular embedded systems, and packaged solutions for wireless routing and wearable computers.

Cowan's previous roles at Encirq Corporation included Vice President, Worldwide Business Development leading direct sales in North America and distribution in Europe, as well as President and CEO of Encirq KK (Japan) where he was responsible for field sales, support and professional services in Japan and Korea. Prior to Encirq, Cowan was president and CEO of PFU Systems, the US subsidiary of a Fujitsu group company providing embedded hardware and software solutions to the US. Cowan earned his BA and MBA degrees from the University of California, Berkeley.
In other changes on the US-based management team, Hilary Tomasson will now serve as VP of Marketing Communications, Brian McCalley has been hired as VP of Marketing Strategy, Deborah Grenier has been promoted to VP of Human Resources, and Robert Davis has been promoted to VP of Operations.
