EuroTech Brings Power Over Ethernet to the Bitsy Product Line
The Bitsy PoE Adapter Board with 802.3af Compliancy Optimizes Cost, Flexibility, and Reliability for Embedded Applications
Columbia, MD, July 9, 2008 – Eurotech Inc., a leading provider of application-ready embedded computer systems, offers the Bitsy PoE adapter board which adds Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability to BitsyXb and Bitsy G5 single board computers. This new feature enhancement, coupled with the overall versatility of the Bitsy product family, makes these two boards attractive to markets such as industrial control, automation, and medical where PoE is becoming an integral part of embedded solutions.
The new capability allows OEMs to supply approximately 10 W of power using an existing Ethernet connection and standard CAT 3 or CAT 5 cabling. Available as an optional add-on, the Bitsy PoE adapter board mates to a BitsyXb or Bitsy G5 board for extended capabilities such as CompactFlash®, SD/MMC, audio and video capabilities, serial ports, and now PoE with 802.3af compliancy.
