Bitsy G5 Embedded Computer Now Available With Microsoft Windows Embedded CE 6.0
Applied Data Systems Completes Testing of Microsoft Windows Embedded CE 6.0 on Bitsy G5
Columbia, MD., February 25 2008 – Applied Data Systems, a leader in low-power embedded computer systems and a subsidiary of Eurotech Group, S.p.A., announces the availability of the Bitsy G5 embedded computer system with Windows Embedded CE 6.0 from Microsoft (NasdaqGS: MSFT). This latest product offering gives developers enhanced flexibility and the power of software to bring quality OEM products to market quickly with a powerful embedded computer.
Windows Embedded CE 6.0, has several improvements from previous CE versions including support for over 32,000 processes with 2 GB of virtual memory for each process, increased SDL-compliant security, enhanced editing for quick code development, and shared source code, which allows developers to modify and debug code and access useful technical documentation quickly and easily. Platform Builder, an IDE for building customized embedded operating systems, comes as a plug-in to Visual Studio and provides one programming environment for developing both the application and operating system. CE 6.0 also offers Cellcore which provides support for applications based on wireless and cellular connectivity such as SMS messaging, machine-to-machine communications, or connecting to the internet via a cellular network. These features and benefits of Windows Embedded CE 6.0 increase functionality while reducing time to market.
