"Applied Data Systems is well-known for designing sophisticated, low-power embedded computer systems," said Robert Olsen, president of Applied Data Systems. "The netCast Player HD gives manufacturers of multimedia products choices for various applications such seat-back entertainment in a stadium or digital signage for a bar or restaurant menu or specials. Multimedia applications like this are more crisp and useful to end customer when delivered over high definition systems like netCast Player HD."
The netCast Player HD has an array of design options with sophisticated HD graphics. The richly featured product is designed with options including file management over PC, password protection for enhanced security, and touchscreen expandability, all while running on a robust, low-power consuming platform.
In addition to a broad set of the features and options which are included, the product comes bundled with a Windows® package for PC connections. This package, which is typically a significant extra charge with many other IP-STB products, allows application designers to easily schedule and manage media files over the network, for example, to play specific video files during certain times.
Applied Data Systems' netCast Player HD is now shipping. It can be ordered as a stand-alone product or can interface with multiple units and netCast family products in various customizable configurations.
