Eurotech Group Opens a Research Centre at Nanjing University of Technology (China)
Eurotech opens a Research Centre on embedded systems and sponsors a university course on embedded design at Nanjing NJUT
Nanjing, China - February 24, 2005 - - The Eurotech Group announced today the official opening of the Eurotech Research
Center at the Nanjing University of Technology (NJUT), as well as the sponsorship of a new university course on the design of embedded computing
systems.
Opening ceremonies for the Research Center were held on February 20 in Nanjing. Top dignitaries from both Eurotech and the University were in
attendance to formalize the collaborative agreement between the two parties and to unveil a plaque dedicated to the Eurotech NJUT Research Center.
At the ceremony, Eurotech also announced its sponsorship of a new course entitled "Professional Embedded System Design," aimed at helping students to
increase their knowledge of embedded computing architecture and design. Two Eurotech project engineers will initiate the course instruction and
introduce the fundamentals of embedded technology, making it possible for the students to start developing prototype designs.
"The Eurotech Group is very pleased about this opportunity to sponsor the embedded design research center and course at the Nanjing University of Technology,"
said Tomi Hanninen, Managing Director of Eurotech Finland. "We look forward to more actively participating in Chinese development projects and introducing
embedded technology into a market where economic and cultural growth is rising so rapidly."
The Nanjing University of Technology (whose roots can be traced back to 1902) was established in May 2001 through the merger of the "Nanjing University
of Chemical Technology" and the "Nanjing Institute of Architectural and Civil Engineering". Today, the University is one of the largest in China with
more than 30,000 students, 2,500 teachers and a broad collection of courses in engineering, management, and the sciences.
