Arcom has added a Pentium 4 option to its range of rugged 19" rack mount industrial PCs - better still, for a limited time, the feature packed 2.4GHz
Pentium 4 is offered at the same price as the current 1GHz Pentium III systems. These high performance systems serve as a solid platform for applications
in railway signaling, information displays, machine control and industrial monitoring.
The APC system product is a rugged 19" industrial PC (4U high by 450mm deep), which has been independently tested for FCC and European CE EMC compliance and operation in high vibration environments. The product has also been tested against EN50121-4 for use in railway signaling and telecommunications within the European Union. These APC systems are based on a steel, seam welded chassis and provide a strong, reliable platform for industries demanding extended lifetime support and a managed product lifecycle. The systems are fitted with an internal, rubber cushioned restraining bar to ensure add-in cards are totally secure during transit and normal operation.
The APC system is powered by an industrial slot PC which can be fitted with any Intel Socket478 compatible CPU up to 3.06GHz for the Intel Pentium 4 (533MHz FSB) or 2GHz for the Intel Celeron. The standard system is fitted with a 2.4GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor, 256Mbytes of DDR memory, 80Gbyte hard drive and a CDRW / DVD ROM drive, along with a 14 slot backplane (configured as 4 PCI, 8 ISA and 2 ISA/PCI). The standard system is fitted with a wide input AC PSU, however build options with hot swap dual redundant and DC input power supplies are also available.
