The design centers of Eurotech have had a long and productive relationship with IBM, which has matured to active participation in the Smarter Planet Initiative.
The focus of our activity is around Websphere products, especially Websphere Sensor Events Server which we host out of our facility to support pilot projects for sensor based systems. Our hardware and software products include licensed IBM technology, our products interface with IBM servers natively, and they can host IBM software.
Much of this effort has been done as development efforts with IBM research, and much has matured in some large projects executed over the last decade. Now, with our Websphere based Everyware Software Framework, we are looking to broaden the partnership.
A quick history of the relationship with IBM Follows:
-
1999: Co-development of MQTT with IBM Hursley . MQTT Subsequently adopted by all Websphere products
-
2001: Largest MQTT-based SCADA deployment at Conoco-Phillips : 24/7/365 over past 9 years (%99.999 availability)
-
2002: Supplied Intels Daytona Platform (XScale) for Pervasive Computing Telematics with J9 VM
-
2003: First RFID Edge Controller with Sensors and Actuators EBO
-
2004: Joint Customer Success with Alien RFID Edge Controller (Walmart)
-
2005: Arcom Controls acquired by Eurotech Group, ESF Development accelerated
-
2006: Eurotech introduces ZyPad, ZyWan & Everyware Software Framework (ESF)
-
2007: Joint Customer Success with US&S; Eurotech Launches Intel Atom LPIA Platform with J9 VM support
-
2008: Business Development Exec recruited to further develop IBM relationships
-
2009: Became Continua Alliance Member and introduced ESF as a product. Became member of Smarter Planet initiative.
Currently we can support Websphere projects and project pursuit with demos, our hosted Websphere Message Broker, a Premises Websphere Network Appliance, and a team of dedicated J9 developers.
We see our role as the integrator of data transport software, from the device (no matter what protocol) up thru the embedded OS and out to a network in a protocol native to IBM systems. We work exclusively in Eclipse with Equinox according to OSGi specification and the IBM JVM.
We actively seek cooperative project pursuit with IBM sales teams and with IBM Partners. If you would like to explore possibilities, please contact us.
