CAN Bus Drivers and Protocols
SAE J1939 CAN Bus Drivers and Protocols
Eurotech provides fully integrated, commercially available CAN (Controller Area Network) running on both Microsoft Windows and Linux single board computers.
The CAN protocol is an ISO and SAE standard for serial data communication on vehicles. Today, CAN has gained widespread use for vehicle monitoring and control and is well-suited for a variety of applications in industrial automation as well. CAN is also the basis for various other field bus technologies.
Eurotech offers CAN 2.0B protocol on a ARM/RISC and x86 platform on many Eurotech products. We furnish an API from either Linux, CE or Windows, and sample wrappers to make the bus available from applications written in VB C# or other Microsoft managed code.
Some Eurotech standard products include two CAN bus controllers allowing service of different subsystems at different speeds.
Some off the shelf products with CAN Bus include:
- Sphere II- perhaps the lowest cost SBC with CAN on the board, Sphere has a powerful 32 bit Cirrus CPU with both Linux and Windows CE Support and plenty of other I/O for embedded vehicle controllers
- Zeus- This PXA270 EPIC format board has CAN and abundant additional I/O, including plug in options for modems, Zigbee and more
- GCM- the powerful PXA320 CPU at 624 MHz, with CAN on the board. High speed graphics at low, ARM power.
- AIM104-CAN A PC-104 Single Channel Opto-Isolated CAN interface module supporting the Philips SJA1000 Controller (CAN 2.0B compliant) Use with any of the Eurotech PC104 computers
For heavy vehicles, we can provide a
SAE J1708 interface.
The drivers you want can be detailed in a project 'Scope of Work' document, engineered and then supplied with each board supplied under a mutually agreeable OEM Contract.
