Embedded Computer Software Engineer
Primary Function:
Embedded Software Engineer for our Kansas City area office to work with our global product development teams. Using existing Eurotech hardware, software technology and tooling, the job scope will include the setup, installation, troubleshooting, development, support, and deployment of complete embedded infrastructures.
This position is an excellent opportunity for any engineer wanting to participate in the exciting and expanding area of embedded computing technology as it applies to emerging sectors including:
- Cloud Computing
- Machine to Machine
- The "Internet of Things"
Duties:
This individual will be a team player who participates in design and coding activities with other staffing members around the world and has industry experience with overarching embedded systems including everything from low-level device driver to complete Cloud-based end-to-end solutions.
Requirements:
- Linux (require command line shell experience and good knowledge of Linux commands)
- Object Oriented Programming
- OSGi (prefer Equinox)
- Java (Java ME a plus)
- Eclipse Development Tools (CDT, JDT, Plugin Development, Buckminster), C/C++ Bash/Linux shell scripting, Linux driver development/debugging Networking (iptables, routing, cellular, wifi). Other tools: Subversion/GIT/Wiki/Maven
Desired technical knowledge/experience:
- Red Hat and/or Wind River Linux
- Wind River Workbench
- Cassandra and/or SQL
- MQ Telemetry Transport (MQTT)
- Web Development (RAP/RCP, GXT, GWT, Vaadin, PHP, JS, HTML)
- Embedded hardware experience (x86, ARM, PowerPC, etc)
Skills/Qualifications:

Business Development Manager / Cloud Solutions
Primary Function:
The successful candidate will possess the drive and expertise to connect businesses with our Cloud Computing Solutions. This pivotal position is responsible for creating revenue opportunities with new and existing clients.
Duties:
Champion solution-based sales strategies in support of the existing customer account teams for the SaaS/DaaS product suite. The primary responsibility will be to drive adoption of Eurotech's cloud computing offerings, both internally and externally, including closing sales, conducting and leading the sales process, building solutions, training, speaking at seminars, and leading demand generation activities. Targeting new accounts, creating new business opportunities and building a strong partner ecosystem are essential success metrics.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of complex sales in a technical discipline (Telecom, Wireless, Integration, Software).
- Expertise and understanding of the software as-a-service delivery model and the overall value proposition of cloud computing is essential.
- Ability to present to Executive level positions.
- Road warrior, ability to travel up to 80% throughout North America.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Must be a self-starter and able to create and drive the need for cloud-based solutions both internally and externally.
- Strong presentation skills are a must along with the ability to train and translate technical concepts to field sales teams.
- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer-facing environment is essential.
- Ability to work within a coordinated sales process and to engage account teams and pre-sale engineering resources as needed.
- Proven track record of developing partners and channels within an ecosystem.
- In addition to the above qualifications, the ideal candidate will be based near a major metropolitan airport for extensive travel to client sites and Eurotech headquarters in Columbia, Maryland.
Education: B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience is required.
Buyer
Primary Function
Responsible for source selection and procurement of electronic components and assemblies to meet company sales and margin directives.
Duties:
- Responsible for the timely planning, scheduling of receipt and inventory control of the products
- Initiates purchase orders and Manufacturing Orders and amendments for parts, services, and/or special tools; arranges for submission and inspection of sample products as required
- Secures and analyzes quotations; negotiates prices and terms with suppliers; and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities
- Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control and management
- Works closely with Sub Contract Manufacturers, Local Engineers and Configuration Management
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the procurement of discrete active and passive electronic components from distribution and manufacturing
- Proficiency with an ERP system and Microsoft Office
- Must be able to work effectively with all personnel in solving material availability issues
- Ability to work on multiple tasks with deadline pressures
- Must have ability to perform analysis of component marketplace to determine future material availability for multiple products
- Some knowledge of the Manufacturing and Testing Process for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively, collaboratively with others, both in and outside the department
- Excellent organizational skills
Education:
- Bachelor's degree with CMP/CPIM preferred.
